External Serial Modems
Please note the presence or absence of
a letter after the model number in your modem's serial number,
which is located under the barcode on the bottom label (under
the modem) or on the box the modem came it.
- If the serial number contains an "A" or no
letter (e.g., xxxx-x08-03328-xxxx or xxxx-x08-03328-A-xxxx).,
your modem uses an Agere chipset.
- If the serial number contains a "C" (e.g.,
xxxx-x08-15328-C-xxxx)., your modem uses a Conexant chipset.
Driver files and firmware for Agere chipset
-based modems will not work with Conexant chipset-based (or
vice versa),
so please
be sure to download the correct files for your modem. |
